To bring your Characters to life in We Are, start by entering the Node Map. Select the node you’d like to animate and click Studio.
In Studio, you can add dynamic elements to your Characters and make them come alive. Here’s a breakdown of the key elements you can edit to enhance your Characters:
Body language
By clicking the blue box/ plus icon on the left, you can choose from a wide variety of body language options.
We recommend experimenting with some of our dynamic options like feminine or masculine (weight shift), or styles like explaining or presenting. Once you've found the right match, click "apply" to add it to your timeline.
After it’s added, you can edit facial gestures and adjust where the Character is looking by double-clicking on the blue bar in the timeline.
Pro tip: You can use multiple body language styles in one node to keep your Character’s movements extra engaging. Just double click the blue bar and split these up.
Gestures
The purple line in the timeline represents gestures.
Click the plus icon to explore our extensive library of gestures.
Click "apply" to add the gesture to your timeline. Once it’s there, you can:
Adjust facial expressions
Change where the Character is looking
Drag the gesture to its correct place in the timeline
Make the gesture last longer or shorter by adjusting the handles on both sides of the gesture bar
Note: Gestures will override the body language. For example, if your Character has "Arms on hips" as their body language, and you add a gesture where the Character raises their arms, the arms will rise when the timeline reaches that gesture. This makes your Character more dynamic!
Audio
The audio track appears as a light blue bar in the timeline. We Are Characters come with an AI-generated voice. Double-click the audio bar to adjust both pitch and rate. Some AI voices also offer different speaking styles for added flexibility.
If you want to add a personal touch, you can record your own voice directly in We Are. Simply click the plus icon, hit record, and you’re good to go — no extra tools needed!
Media
Media is the last option in the timeline. Here, you can add images to your Story. Click the plus icon, upload your image, and position it in the timeline where you want it to appear.
Double-click the media in the timeline to adjust the size, rotation, depth, opacity, and how it enters (fade in) or exits (fade out) the scene.
You can have up to 10 media tracks in your timeline at the same time. Get ready for a rich, layered experience.
