A node is the building block of your Story in We Are — a content piece that forms part of the flow. Each node has a specific purpose and helps you structure your Story with ease.
Here’s a breakdown of all the nodes you can choose from:
Dialogue node
The dialogue node is used when you want your Characters to speak according to your script. You can write the script directly in the node, or you can do so by clicking on Studio where you can also fine-tune the animations to bring your Characters to life. If your Story has multiple Characters, no worries — you can select who speaks in each scene within Studio.
Response node
If you want to add interactivity to your Story, the response node is your go-to. A response triggers a button that the learner must click to proceed in the Story. Just like this:
Each response node adds one button, and you can add as many as you need to create branching scenarios with different outcomes.
Open response node
Open Response introduces a new level of interactivity to your Stories, allowing learners to engage in free speech within an interactive dialogue. This AI-powered feature interprets the learner's input and matches it to pre-defined outcomes. All of this while still giving you, the learning designer, full control over the flow of the scenario!
Poster node
The poster node is perfect for providing additional context, like introducing the Story, outlining a scenario, or stating the learning objectives. It’s fully customizable — add text, choose your font, colors, and even an image.
Don’t forget to customize the “Next” button at the bottom to guide learners forward.
Hotspot node
Enhance your images with interactive elements! Hotspot nodes let you add buttons, pop-ups, and links to create engaging, dynamic visuals. Use them to provide extra context, break information into bite-sized pieces, or guide learners to additional resources — all with a simple click.
Event node
The event node sets the scene for the following nodes. This is where you determine the location of your scene, select which Characters are present, and how many. Any dialogue nodes that come after will follow the settings from the event node.
Want to have several locations in one Story, or change between one or two Characters? Simply add more event nodes throughout your Story. Experiment with scene changes mid-Story for a fun twist!
End node
The end node is how you wrap up your Story. Use it to indicate whether the learner has succeeded or failed, and provide custom feedback based on their performance.
If you’ve included skills in your Story, you can summarize the learner’s score in your end node. Just remember to toggle on Skill explorer for detailed feedback.
