Player Navigation lets learners move back and forward through a Story. They can jump back to nodes they’ve already visited to replay dialogue, re-take quizzes, or try a different response — and they can also jump forward again to continue the Story, without needing to restart from the beginning.
What learners can do
With navigation on, learners can:
jump back to nodes they’ve already visited
move forward in the Story to keep going (including into nodes they haven’t visited yet)
Learners can’t skip into nodes they haven’t completed yet.
Turning navigation on in a Story
Open your Story, then click Settings.
Scroll to Navigation, then toggle Allow learners to revisit completed nodes on or off.
If you turn it on, you’ll see an extra option appear: Allow learners to freely skip ahead.
Toggle this on if you want Learners to skip forward more freely through nodes:On linear paths, they can skip forward without replaying every node.
On branches, they can only skip ahead within paths they’ve selected before.
When should I disable navigation?
You might want to turn navigation off if:
you’re using the Story as a formal assessment
you don’t want Learners to revisit earlier choices
you need a strict, one-pass experience
