Auto-animate

Updated over 10 months ago

Want to save time animating your characters? That magical button you wish existed when your script is ready and the nodes are in place? It’s here — meet Auto-animate!

With one click, Auto-Animate suggests animations for your scene. Gestures, idle movements, and facial expressions are automatically added — all driven by your text input.

How to use Auto-animate:

  1. Add your script.

  2. Click Studio.

  3. Hit the Auto-animate button on the right.

☝🏻 Important: If you already have animations in your timeline, they will be replaced when you use Auto-animate.

Click Continue, and within seconds, you’ll get a complete animation suggestion based on your script.

Want characters to look at each other automatically?

To make this happen with Auto-animate, place the characters within each other’s field of view — that's 45 degrees to either side. Here is an explanation of how it works:

If you place the characters side by side, both facing the Player, it won’t work — they’re not within each other's view.

In this example, we’ve turned the character on the right slightly toward the one on the left. Now, Auto-animate will make the right character look at the left.

Here’s a perfect match: both characters are turned toward each other, and Auto-animate will ensure they make eye contact.
