Want to place your characters behind objects like a desk or a cashier counter? Or maybe add a table in between two characters? You can layer images however you like. Here’s how you do it:
1. Use a PNG image with a transparent background: The image you want to use must be a PNG file with a transparent background. For example like this:
2. Add the image in Studio: Open your node map, go to Studio, and add the image to the image track. Once it’s on the timeline, double-click the image to adjust its position (1).
3. Set the depth: Use the depth controls to choose which layer the image belongs to.
This decides whether it appears in front, behind or in between your characters (2).
4. Make the image instant in and instant out: Set the image to appear instantly at the start and instantly at the end (3).
5. Extend the image track: Drag the image track so it stretches beyond the time cursor. This prevents the image from fading out before the full scene plays.
