What is a Story? (Linear vs. Interactive)
What is a Story? (Linear vs. Interactive)

Everything starts with a Story...

Updated over a month ago

In We Are, a Story is an immersive learning content designed to engage your audience. Depending on your goals, you can create either a Linear Story or an Interactive Story - each offering a different way to deliver your message.

Let’s break it down:

Linear Stories 🎬

A Linear Story plays from start to finish without viewer interaction, much like an explainer video. The experience is seamless—Characters guide the audience through the content in a structured, easy-to-follow way.

  • Best for: Clear, concise information delivery.

  • How it’s shared: Can be shared as a URL or recorded as a video (MP4) for easy playback.

  • Ideal use case: Training videos, storytelling, and guided explanations.

Interactive Stories 🎭

An Interactive Story puts the Player in control, allowing them to make choices that shape the experience. Learners can navigate branches, choose dialogue, and practice real-life scenarios—making learning dynamic and engaging.

  • Best for: Hands-on learning, decision-making, and scenario-based training.

  • How it’s shared: Typically shared as a URL for learners to access directly.

  • Ideal use case: Role-playing exercises, simulations, and soft-skills training.

Which One is Right for You?

The good news? There’s no wrong choice!

  • Linear Stories can be shared as a URL or exported as a video (MP4) for on-demand viewing.

  • Interactive Stories are designed to be shared via a URL, but if needed, they can also be saved as a video - just remove the interactive elements first.
